Well, IMO, the linked landing page could link there or be more clear. Though then again, having read through the first 3 pages of the thread I still have no clue. I think I'm going to just accept that this is Not For Me.
It's a new project, early in development, though I've been putting out snapshots daily. If you're not a fan of 1975-era gaming, Not For You is a good answer.
Maasenstodt, I've received clearance from Matt "Mythmere" Finch to compare Iron Falcon and S&W. The main visible difference is that Iron Falcon uses the traditional 5 saving throws. In other areas, I'm trying hard to keep the rules close to the original game. I have posted more information on the main page at ironfalcon.basicfantasy.org regarding the goals and methods of the project.
This won't be my main game; that will continue to be Basic Fantasy RPG. But I really want to run a few games of Iron Falcon. I'm hoping to have it in a usable state in time for Quincon, a local game convention.
Hrmmm. S&W Core was designed to do the same thing. I wonder how much they differ...
